Today marks the 85th anniversary of that historic day when the Muslims of South Asia made a firm decision to break the chains of slavery and establish an independent Muslim state. On this very day, during the historic session in Lahore, the All-India Muslim League, under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, passed the landmark resolution, which later became famous as the Pakistan Resolution. This resolution gave a clear vision of the destination, and only seven years later, Pakistan came into existence.
This was the destination that Allama Iqbal had envisioned in 1930. Today, we are commemorating the historic day of 23rd March 1940 as Pakistan Day. As we reflect on our past, we must carefully consider our present and future, to shape them thoughtfully. After gaining independence, Quaid-e-Azam emphasized that the youth of the nation must focus on acquiring education.
They should gain modern knowledge, learn new skills, and contribute fully to the development of the country and the nation. Education is the only path to restoring past greatness. We must, alongside our successes, also review our shortcomings. We should fully implement the principles of Unity, Discipline, and Faith, as advocated by Quaid-e-Azam.
