Record Number of Applications for UET Undergraduate Admissions Received, Seats Increased Significantly
The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore and its sub-campuses have received an overwhelming response for undergraduate admissions this year, with over 17,000 applications submitted – a clear testament to the university’s academic reputation and the trust it commands.
In response to the unprecedented number of applicants, UET Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir has announced an increase of 2,500 seats, raising the total number of undergraduate seats to 7,500. According to the Vice Chancellor, this expansion aligns with UET's vision of offering greater access to quality higher education.
Recognizing the increasing number of female students, two boys’ hostels – Tariq Hall and Khalid Hall – have also been converted into girls’ hostels to provide improved residential facilities for female students.
The first merit list for undergraduate programs at UET Lahore and its sub-campuses has already been displayed, while the second merit list will be announced on August 1. The merit thresholds for various programs in the first list are as follows:
Computer Science 87.7%, Cyber Security 86%, Interior Design 85.6%, Business Analytics 85.3%, Data Science 85.2%, Electrical & Mechanical Engineering 82.2%, Mechatronics & Robotics 81.8%, Architecture and Civil 81%, Chemical Engineering 80.5%, Gaming and Animation 80.9%, City & Regional Planning (CRP) 74.9%, Chemistry 73.9%, Industrial Chemistry 72.4%, Islamic Studies 71.4%, Physics 83.2%, Mathematics 77%, Material Science 75.9%, Environmental Science 76.7%, Environmental Engineering 75.4%, Logistics & Supply Chain Management 78.7%, Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering (IME) 76.1%, Petroleum Engineering 78.7%, Mining Engineering 69.3%, Polymer Engineering 69.5%, Product & Industrial Design (PID) 71.1%, Transportation Engineering 69.1%, Geological Engineering 67.2%, English Language & Literature 76.5%, and Information Systems Technology 82.4%.
The last date to submit the admission fee for candidates selected in the first merit list is July 31, 2025.
