An important meeting of the General Body of UET Teaching Staff Association (TSA) was held. TSA President Dr. Muhammad Shoaib presided over the meeting. In the meeting, TSA expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for granting a financial package of one billion rupees to UET. On this occasion, TSA President Dr. Muhammad Shoaib and General Secretary Dr. Tanveer Qasim said that the efforts and vision of Vice Chancellor Dr. Shahid Munir to pull the university out of the financial crisis are worthy of appreciation.

It is through his efforts that UET has been able to manage and overcome the crisis. They expressed hope that under Dr. Shahid Munir’s leadership, UET will continue to progress and achieve new milestones. TSA office bearers also expressed hope that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and her Higher Education Department team will continue their patronage in the future. The TSA extended special thanks to Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat and Secretary HED Khawaja Salman Rafique, whose efforts played a pivotal role in the approval of the grant.

Dr. Tanveer Qasim stated that this grant will bring stability to the engineering university. During the meeting, a request was also made to the federal government and relevant departments to expedite the fund transfer process and to reinstate the 25% tax rebate. Dr. Muhammad Shoaib emphasized that the process of fund transfer should be accelerated so that the delayed relief for UET employees can be provided as soon as possible. He reiterated that TSA will continue to raise its voice for the rights and interests of the teaching community in every possible way.
